Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho has said that the dismissal of Frank Lampard is part of the “brutality of modern football”.
Chelsea fired Lampard, who remained in office for 18 months, and Mourinho expressed his sympathy and called him an important person in his career.
“I’m always sad when a colleague loses his job. “Frank is not just a colleague, he is an important person in my career, so I’m sorry,” said Mourinho.
“This is the brutality of football, especially modern football,” added the Portuguese.
“When you become a manager, you know that sooner or later it will happen,” Mourinho said.
